What to expect

Depart from your accommodation in the morning to Amphipolis, important ancient center of navigation and trade, founded by the Great king of Athens Pericles, using Via Egnatia, Ancient Roman commercial route linking West and East, Rome and Constantinople. Visit the impressive archeological site and museum, and admire the renowned Lion of Amphipolis. Continue to the ancient town of Philippi, named by its founder and father of Alexander The Great, King Philip II and a world heritage site by UNESCO.  Visit the basilica, the ancient theatre, the Roman forum, the cell where Apostle Paul was imprisoned and the baptistery of St. Lydia, where Apostle founded the first Christian church on Greek soil. Drive to the coastal city of Kavala. Stroll around the old city, a great mix of traditional Macedonian and Islamic architecture with stunning views of the Aegean sea and the island of Thasos. Admire the old fortress, the aqueduct, the Muhammad Ali’s mansion and take time for a small tour in the unique Imaret Monument, one of the best boutique hotels in Greece. What do I need to bring with me on the tour?
